Epoxy badge reels are retractable badge holders that have an epoxy dome placed over the top of the reel. The badge reels themselves are typically made from a durable plastic material and are attached to a retractable cord or chain. The cord or chain can be pulled out to extend the reach of the badge holder, making it easier to scan an access card or ID badge without having to remove it from the holder. When not in use, the cord or chain retracts back into the reel.
